I just don’t know if I’m sporting old values or whether I need to readjust to new ones.

We moved back to Melbourne after 11 years living in the States. because of my husband’s job. The kids are now teenagers and readjusting to life back in Australia. They hadn’t seen their cousins for over 6 years and now they are all young adults. My husband and I have a total of 6 siblings all with similar aged children. When my husband and I grew up visiting cousins, it was such a fun time and we always looked forward to it. My issue is that while this is still the same as the current generation the difference is huge. I discovered they now have sex with one another if they are slightly attracted!!!

I’m shocked and I only found out because my son kept telling me his “cousin Kelsie is really hot.” When in a light-hearted manner I said to him simply, “she’s your cousin and you can’t go there” my son burst into laughter and said, “Bit late for that!” It turns out that my good-looking Romeo son has been with most of his reacquainted female cousins and my daughter has slept with one male cousin. Is this the new norm or are you all in shock as my husband and I have been? We don’t know if there is anything we should be doing about it? What happened in the time we were away?

Dear Sweet and Sour,

They are not an elite scientific body. They’re a collection of billionaires who love to make profits from the wealth in the ground that ought to belong to you and me.

Yet the Minerals Council of Australia has argued in a submission to parliament that nuclear power is a mature, proven and safe technology. Money obviously talks louder than real science. How else could they get away with such an arrogant submission despite the facts that the half-life of enriched uranium will always be over 500,000 years and the world has the collected very negative experiences of Chernobyl, Three Mile Island, Fukushima, plus the ongoing radioactivity that continuously devastates successive generations’ health from nuclear bombs and the fallout from testing sites.

It barely rated in the news services at all and I’m sure that’s simply because it’s still so much a boys and mates club. The Mining Lobby doesn’t know how to make money from anything other than grabbing anything out of the ground for a pittance. They collectively haven’t a modern skillset nor an appropriate profit philosophy to produce renewable energy.

So here we are set again to have the very compliant government do the bidding of the big miners because they look after themselves, they don’t look after us. Do you want more nuclear power stations in this nation panellists?

Elon Musk is a believer. Yes, he’s a believer in a supreme being or beings. The scientific community refuses to comprehend that the creator of the Tesla Car and the man who is on the path to send humanity to Mars has advocated that he believes we are all living in a computer simulation.

Well, no one argued with him they all just said, “Interesting!”. What is interesting is that this very clever man understands human nature and marketing so precisely that he used science concepts to articulate his understanding of what believers in a God would call “intelligent design”. Because it simply sounded like futuristic science, every single one in the science community just gave the notion an acknowledgement and a smile, none of the usual scorn and vitriol.

So here we are, the Scientific Community has no issue with intelligent design. God exists according to Elon Musk...he’s a computer programmer! So how does the rest of the panel view intelligent design and the prospect of a supreme being or beings? Additionally, I want to ask the panellists if they believe God would cease to exist if people no longer believe?
